PROPER TRAINING PROVIDES TEAM RUBICON MEMBERS A HOST OF OPPORTUNITIES TO SHARPEN THE CORE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED TO SAFELY PERFORM DISASTER OPERATIONS.
Sure, you have skills. Maybe you have an engineering degree. Maybe you have a diploma in using a shovel. Maybe you just have three gold stars from kindergarten for getting the shit kicked out of you. All of these are useful, but unless you know how to use them in a disaster response scenario, they can do more harm than good.
We offer a multitude of training opportunities, from broad spectrum operational concepts to how to strip and oil a chainsaw.
In order to qualify for a basic deployment with Team Rubicon Canada, you’ll need to have completed these three courses:
Complete the introduction to the internationally recognized Incident Command System
See how the ICS structure fits into a National system (USA specific for now)
To take the above ICS examinations (after you complete the training material), use the Team Rubicon, Inc. address in Los Angeles to sign up for a FEMA SID:
Team Rubicon National Headquarters
6171 W. Century Blvd., Suite 310
Los Angeles, CA 90045
When you’ve completed both courses, email certificates to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We ensure the safety of our members and the communities we serve. Background checks are conducted through our online provider, which helps optimize our internal process for on-boarding new volunteers. Instructions will be provided in your welcome email upon registration. If you prefer to visit a local police station to obtain a criminal record check, anticipate longer wait times before your application is reviewed by our membership team.
